Meet
Tristen White, Intern

My interest in psychology began when I took my first psychology class in high school. I found the subject fascinating and quickly realized I wanted to study human behavior and mental health. This passion led me to earn my Bachelor of Science degree in psychology with a clinical concentration from Robert Morris University. I decided to become a counselor because I deeply value client interaction and the therapeutic relationship. I am passionate about building meaningful connections with clients and providing a safe space.

I aspire to work with individuals and groups, helping to navigate life’s challenges that can be overwhelming to face alone. I provide services across the lifespan, assisting with anxiety, stress, anger, relationship issues, intense emotions, and other personal challenges. I strive to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space for individuals to explore their experiences and work towards meaningful change.

I admire Rock Creek Wellness for its holistic approach to wellness, integrating DBT-informed counseling, Yin Yoga, and mindfulness practices to support individuals as a whole person. By emphasizing the connection between mind and body, the practice fosters growth, resilience, and empowerment while helping individuals move toward a greater overall well-being.

My Hope for Wellness

My hope for the health & wellness industry is to continue moving toward a holistic and compassionate approach that emphasizes the importance of mental, emotional, and physical well-being. I hope that individuals can continue to feel empowered and supported throughout their wellness journeys and recognize that they are not alone. I hope that as a society we can reduce stigma around mental health and embrace the strength it takes to find help and support.

Interesting Tidbits

Working and continuing my education in graduate school keeps me very busy, and I find it very important to prioritize my well-being by taking time to relax and engage in my hobbies. Outside of work, I enjoy studying, reading thriller novels, spending time with friends, and discovering new restaurants. My favorite way to wind down in the evenings is to order takeout and throw on a reality television show before going to bed. I always try to take at least one day a week to disconnect from technology as much as possible and enjoy other pastimes. Some common ways that I incorporate this are taking a walk, reading, drawing, or getting some chores done.

I am from West Virginia, and I came to Pennsylvania for college. I try to visit my hometown as often as possible to spend time with my family. I value the time I spend with my parents, grandparents, and other distant family members. I also have two cats that I cannot live without. They keep me on my toes and always know how to make me laugh after a long day. They typically enjoy traveling with me to West Virginia.
