Meet
Kimberly Doyle, LCSW/Founder

When I first entered the field, I worked primarily with children and quickly noticed how many carried histories of sexual or physical abuse or neglect. Over time, it became clear that to truly help children heal, we also needed to support their parents—many of whom had their own unresolved trauma. It is incredibly difficult for caregivers to protect and attune to their children’s needs when they themselves were never protected, and when healthy boundaries were never modeled or taught.

This recognition led me to seek out treatment approaches that could empower parents with the skills necessary to build the lives they wanted for themselves and their families. Through my training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I began teaching clients how to cultivate a loving, compassionate relationship with themselves as the foundation for healing. DBT’s emphasis on mindfulness, breath work, relaxation, nutrition, exercise, and other forms of intentional self-care naturally guided me toward trauma-informed wellness—and eventually toward the creation of Rock Creek Wellness.

I believe deeply that I am meant to use my gifts as both a therapist and a business owner to support those in need. I am passionate about working with people from all walks of life and belief systems, welcoming each person into a safe, respectful space where they feel valued, cared for, and understood.

My Hope for Wellness

My hope is that more people are able to experience stillness in their mind and body so that they gain the immense benefits that result! In order to do this we need to shift our culture away from a fast-paced, always-on, 24/7 stimulated way of life.

I would also love to see more organizations embrace self care methods by promoting the inherent beauty of individualism, difference, and the rich variety found within the human experience rather than promoting products using shame propaganda.

Interesting Tidbits

I love it when I can wake up 2 hours before the demands of the day need attention. My day goes so much better when I can take a half hour to cook breakfast and sip a hot drink in the winter months. In the summer, sitting on the porch looking off to the sunrise, trees, and neighboring houses grounds me to the importance of my community with others and the environment. It allows me to put my day in perspective and focus my attention on the purpose I serve within it.

I also love to spend some time in the morning reading the Bible and/or devotionals. I try to hold on to this throughout the day with each client, friend, family member, and stranger I come into contact with. I want their interaction with me to be pleasant and give them a moment of joy. I also love to enjoy life with family and friends! In this, I try to be open to experiencing new activities that support my well-being. Running, hiking, biking, or walking trails through the woods or alongside the local lake. I have even opened myself to enjoying winter scenes and weather by snowshoeing!  In the evening, I like to close down the day by turning down the lights about 1-2 hours before bed and reading a good book or watching educational videos that will help me grow and mature as a person and as a provider.
